Well, 12 pairs of shorts later and 11 of them fit. Whooooohoooo! Mother victory of the day! Going clothes shopping is one of the many differences between raising boys vs girls, and with boys it is quite positive. Boys could care less about their clothes. (well, in the long run compared to girls at least) They don't have to try them on, you just bring the clothes home and then return what doesn't fit. Boys will have no problem with Internet shopping once they know their general size. So why does the Internet pray on women shoppers so much? Market to the men. I want to see a guy Internet shopping ad, run during the Superbowl. Go after them. They could care less about how well it fits, (if they can get it on, it fits) and they could care less about how it feels. If they get a nice feeling shirt, they just think of it as a fluke, (maybe someday it will happen again) if they find out that they can sit at home and not have to brave the retail world, and have stuff delivered to them, half of our battle is over. Get them out of our stores, they just slow up the lanes anyhow. The store is our Autobahn. They just get in the way or write us out mental tickets. ("How much? "You already have..." "Is that a need or a want?") Well, I already had one victory today, I'll have to rid the world of men in stores some other time. My husband took my youngest trap shooting Sunday. He did great! My oldest boy shot quite a lot the year before last. He did quite well, but was always kind of let down when he didn't do as well during tournaments. It was his first year trap shooting. Well to make a long story short, when Dad and my youngest went to to shoot Sunday, an older man at the range took them over to the trophy case, and pulled out a copper cup, and told them that my oldest had won the club's best new shooter award for 2004, and they had been waiting for him to pick it up! Who knew? My oldest son will be so excited. I expect he will have a renewed interest for some time, to go shooting on Sunday afternoons, with his dad. Of course this just will egg on the youngest. If his brother has a cup, so shall he, in his mind.
